The weather was looking good, and my partner, who had never been on snow before was ready for the challenge! So we geared up and drove to Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood. Hiked In friday, hiked a little more saturday, then reached the summit at 7am on suday. Had a great ski back to the car with a very heavy backpack and half of a splitboard which I found in a rock pile.

This photo is off Illumination Rock, which is situated at roughly 9200ft. It has some intriguing mixed climbing routes on it, and we would have had a closer look at it, but we had not rock protection with us.
